Who is leading the 2024 Urban Growth Master Plan?

The City of Lexington’s Division of Planning are leading the 2024 Urban Growth Plan process. Alongside planning staff, the city has hired TSW Design as a consultant to help research and write the Master Plan. TSW is also working with a variety of local organizations to fill in the project team.

  • Division of Planning

    Lexington’s Division of Planning is the office in charge of land use and community design in the city and county. They produce Lexington’s Comprehensive Plan (Imagine Lexington), the main document that guides growth and development in the city.

  • TSW Design

    TSW Design is a Planning, Architecture, and Landscape design firm with locations in Lexington, Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Tulsa. They have experience with master planning and community design, and project management.

  • Gresham Smith

    Gresham Smith is an architecture, engineering, and design firm with 26 offices in the United States. They will primarily be working on landscape architecture, transportation engineering, and environmental advising for the Urban Growth Master Plan.

  • Partners for Economic Solutions

    Partners for Economic Solutions (PES) is an urban economics consulting firm, working on bringing economics expertise to local policy issues. They will primarily be working on economic analysis and budget development for the Urban Growth Master Plan.

  • Southface

    Southface is a nonprofit focused on promoting sustainable homes, workplaces, and communities. They will primarily be working on Sustainability advising in the Urban Growth Master Plan.

  • CivicLex

    CivicLex is a nonprofit focused on making it easier for Lexington/ Fayette County Residents to get involved in local government. They will primarily be working on public engagement for the Urban Growth Master Plan.
